Vance Ginn, Ph.D., is an economist in the Center for Fiscal Policy at the Texas Public Policy Foundation in Austin, one of the top free market, state-level think tanks in the nation.

Before joining the Foundation, Ginn taught at three universities and one community college across Texas. He is a director on the Missouri Valley Economic Association’s Executive Committee and has presented his research findings at its annual meetings, as well as at those of other professional organizations.

His research interests include increasing state budget transparency, reforming state pension systems, limiting state spending and taxes, eliminating the business margins tax and property taxes, examining labor market trends, modeling economic activity, and investigating oil and gasoline markets.

Ginn received his B.B.A. in economics and accounting with minors in political science and mathematics from Texas Tech University, and went on to earn a Ph.D. in economics from Texas Tech as well. He has successfully published peer-reviewed articles in academic journals, including The International Trade Journal and Energy Economics, commentaries in major media outlets, and also has scholarly works in progress.
