Paul Bettencourt is the Chief Executive Officer of Bettencourt Tax Advisors, LLC; KSEV Radio personality; former Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector; and currently the Senator-Elect for Texas State Senate, District 7 (which he won with 71.8% of the vote in his district).

Bettencourt Tax Advisors, LLC was formed in 2009 to bring Paul’s years of public service and knowledge of property taxes, as well as his years of business experience to the private sector. BTA now represents $10 Billion of customer portfolios in primarily the Commercial Sector as well as Residential customers throughout Southeast Texas, Texas, and surrounding states.

He is known by many as “The Taxman” from the ten years he spent leading the Harris County Tax Office as the elected Tax Assessor-Collector in the nation's third largest county, as well as his knowledgeable presence as a conservative activist and radio and television personality. Through Paul’s leadership at the Tax Office, his team developed a Customer Service driven organization which started the first major Web Site in Texas that included on-line tax bills, and then the first On-Line Automotive Registration and Property Tax Payment System in Texas.

 As a KSEV Radio personality, “The Taxman” brings his knowledge of local, state, and global issues to the listeners of the ‘Paul Bettencourt and The Amigos’ show on Friday mornings where a frequent topic of discussion is Texas Property Taxes.

Paul Bettencourt received the “‘Taxpayer Advocate of the Year” award from the Americans for Prosperity and many other recognitions of his statewide effort to reduce property tax increases for all Texas Taxpayers. Paul has also held the offices of Republican Party of Texas Treasurer, Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Harris County Republican Party, National Republican Party Delegate from Texas in 2000, 2004, and 2008, and Presidential Elector in the 2012 Presidential Election.
