Mark Meckler

Citizens for Self-Governance

Mark Meckler is one of the nation’s most effective grassroots activists. After co-founding and serving as National Coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots (the largest tea party organization in the nation), he founded an organization designed to revolutionize American government by returning it to its founding principles: Citizens for Self-Governance (CSG).  Founded in February 2012, this grassroots initiative is focused on expanding and assisting the non-partisan, self-governance movement.

In one of CSG’s most exciting projects Mark has teamed up with Michael Farris, Chancellor of Patrick Henry College and one of the most influential Constitutional lawyers in the United States, to found the Convention of States Project (http://www.ConventionOfStates.com), which is organizing a national grassroots effort calling for an Article V amending convention.  This project seeks to empower citizens to restrict the power, scope and jurisdiction of the federal government, returning the citizens to their proper role as sovereigns, through the use of Article V of the Constitution.

Mark appears regularly on wide variety of television and radio outlets, is the author of Tea Party Patriots, The Second American Revolution, blogs at SelfGovern.com and is a regular contributor at the American Spectator online.

Mark received his BA in English from San Diego State University, and his J.D. from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.   He and his wife Patty live in rural northern California where they share their love of horses and the outdoors with their teenage children.
