Mental Health is on many legislators’ minds as we move into this coming legislative session. Panelists will critically discuss the implications of mental health practices and policies that mental healthcare advocates are promoting. In light of the Sunset Commission’s recommendations for the Department of State Health Services, legislators must consider whether the mental health services available in Texas are actually providing the right kind of help. This panel will discuss the future of mental healthcare and the most prudent ways to move toward a more efficient, effective system of care.
